Essex & Suffolk Wedding Venues
Having just reached David Michael Photography’s eleventh birthday, I thought it may be a good time to stop and reflect on how far the company has progressed so far. One of the main reasons for the success of the business is the continued support I have received from some amazing venues in Essex & Suffolk, who continue to promote my services to their clients. This is an ideal time for me to ‘big them up’, and also a good time for me to help in a small way to spread the word about these fantastic places for people to hold their weddings.
David Michael Photography is based in Feering, Essex, close to Kelvedon and Coggeshall. Our nearest venues are Prested Hall, Crabbs Barn, Layer Marney Tower, and Braxted Park. All images copyright David Michael Photography 2015.
I have been very lucky to work at Hedingham Castle for almost ten years now, and have shot over 100 weddings there. The thing I love most about this place is that it is so unique, and looks completely different from season to season. This means that I always have something different to shoot and it is an absolute pleasure to be associated with this premium location.
I have worked at Spains Hall for more than eight years as one of their recommended photographers, and have witnessed many changes there during this time. I absolutely love the contrast between traditional and contemporary here, and it is still one of the best run venues around. If you are lucky enough to have a sunny wedding day here, it is a photographer’s paradise.
I have shot many weddings at Prested Hall over the years, and have been a recommended supplier there for the past few years. It has always been one of my favourite places to work, and not just because it is just over a mile away from my house! The staff there are really lovely, and this is probably why it is one of the most popular venues around.
Marks Hall is an absolute gem of a venue. Hidden away on the edge of a stunning wildlife reserve, it really gives it’s clients a unique option for holding a wedding. If the weather is good, this place comes alive and gives photographers a huge array of options – we really are spoilt for choice.
Dove Barn & Houchins.
I have worked at Dove Barn in Suffolk fairly regularly over the years and it really is a lovely well-run venue. The owners recently converted Houchins in Essex into a premium wedding venue, and it has only recently opened. I am really looking forward to shooting my first wedding there later this year.
Copdock Hall is a brand new venue that is due to open in May 2015. I have been involved in shooting promotional images for their launch event and publicity, and am honoured to be one of their recommended photographers. I really can’t wait to shoot a wedding here. Unusually, there is a quaint little church right next door to the venue, which offers many possibilities for clients.
The Warren Golf & Country Club.
Weddings at The Warren are really taking off, mainly due to the quality wedding team that is now in place and the investments they have made to the clubhouse and outbuildings. Once the building work is completed, this will be one of the few venues in and around Essex that can hold functions for up to 400 guests. This place has some absolutely beautiful views and I’m looking forward to shooting there more in the future.
Woolston Manor is a golf club and wedding venue near Chigwell in Essex. The wedding facility is huge and I have been lucky enough to shoot there regularly over the past five years. It is beautifully laid out, and allows photographers to shoot many of the key events of the day from different levels. I really like shooting there and hope to visit again soon.
