Recommended Entertainers – my view.
We all have different tastes when it comes to entertainment, I get that. Over the past decade I have watched and listened to hundreds of entertainers, musicians, singers, bands, DJs, and even creches. When it comes to singers, bands, and DJs I have seen some really bad ones!
Below I have pulled together a list of entertainers that I have seen in action on numerous occasions, and who without exception have always been excellent. Whether they are to you taste or not is up to you, but these are the guys I consider to be the best in the business.
Let’s start with the ceremony and the drinks reception first…
Eileen Hunter – jazz musician.
Eileen is a classically trained singer, pianist, and flute player. She is a class act, and a true recording artist that has played in all the top jazz venues in London, such as Ronnie Scotts and the 606 Club in Chelsea. Eileen can be hired for high-end weddings anywhere in the world and is one of the best around.
Glen Parish – guitarist.
Glen is an accomplished guitarist who performs at events all over the UK. He has worked as a session musician for many years and has a huge repertoire of songs in his catalogue. I have worked with Glen many times and he always delivers a great performance.
Jethro Baker – pianist.
I have worked with Jethro for almost ten years now, and have seen him perform at many functions both as a solo pianist and as part of his band, Buster Shuffle. Jethro’s piano playing is a perfect accompaniment to any drinks reception.
The Fool Monty.
Monty (or Matt as known to his friends) is a Jester who entertains guests and/or children at weddings. He is also a fantastic alternative to employing a Toastmaster at your event. Monty is also a circus skills tutor which can keep your guests thoroughly entertained during your drinks reception.
Safe & Sound Mobile Creche.
If you plan to have children at your wedding, Stephanie is the person to speak to. She has a wide range of services to offer you, and her background in event management makes her ideally placed to help with any size wedding. I have know Stephanie for many years and am confident she will give you an excellent service.
And now, onto the evening entertainment….
Steve Brookstein – Singer/Songwriter.
Yes, the guy that won the very first series of The X Factor! I have worked with Steve for many years and shot one of his album covers as well as the cover to his biography. Steve still performs at a few weddings every year, and always gives an amazing performance with his silky soulful voice. He can be hired on his own or with his band (who are equally excellent). If you like soul music and your budget allows, Steve is a very unique and classy addition to any wedding.
These guys offer a whole host of services for your evening entertainment, from supplying DJs and danceflloors, to photo booth hire and other styling items. They are multi award winners and are super professional. Check out their huge range of services.
I know these guys mainly through the DJ services they provide to Hedingham Castle weddings, but they also supply a wide range of music acts for all kinds of event. You can contact them for a sample CD.
Jupiter Ray are a four piece soul and funk party band from Essex. They are a great live band, and can mix their sets with DJ sets if required as well as providing background music during the wedding breakfast. Contact them to receive a personalised quote.
One Foot in the Groove.
One Foot in the Groove are a function band that provide a range of live music at your wedding. The live band can rock the party late into the evening, and they can also supply an acoustic duo or jazz duo/trio to play during the drinks reception or wedding breakfast.
